….Health & Safety Representatives (HSR) training………………

The WHS Act 2011 provides a framework to protect the health, safety & welfare of all workers in the workplace. Workers have a right under the consultation process to request for election of Health & Safety Representative (HSR) from the person(s) conducting an undertaking (PCBU).

 

Training courses for HSR approved under section 21 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011, are:

  1. an initial five day training course
  2. an annual one day refresher course.

 

The Cert IV Work Health & Safety is a nationally recognised qualification that fulfils the 5 day training course requirement for Health & Safety Representatives.

…Health & Medical Care staff development training…
Employers are legally obliged to make sure their staff are trained to do their jobs safely. Those working with clients displaying adverse behavioural and/or requiring medical assistance are required by legislation to receive specific training as appropriate.
 
•    Challenging behaviour (elderly & young adults)
•    Continence care
•    Diabetes care
•    Drugs & Substance misuse
•    Colostomy care
•    PEG Feed care
•    Trachaeostomy care
•    Manual Handling

A days Health and Medical training, at the clients premises, consists of any 4 of the above topics, each of 2 hr session, is delivered by a Registered Nurse with extensive medical experience.

As a business owner or manager occupying a building in Queensland, you have a legal obligation to ensure the safety of any person in that building in the event of a fire or other emergency under the following legislations :


1. WHS Act 2011

2. Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 (FESA)

3. Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 (BFSR)


Employees delegated as Fire Wardens participate in the preparation of workplace emergency procedures; alerting and reporting potential workplace emergencies; evaluate the need to evacuate a work area; prepare for an evacuation; and assist people who may require assistance in accordance with workplace emergency procedures.

This Fire Warden training is based on Nationally Accredited Unit of Competency

PUAWER005B - Operate as part of an emergency control organisation.
